The rich farmer Shrnej is such a miser that he won't even marry so he doesn't have to support his wife and won't even allow his servant to do so. He uses his wits and comes up with a ruse - when the farmer goes to town, he sees a girl at the crossroads who sings that she doesn't eat or drink, that she only lives on air. That would be a woman! A hard worker and she wouldn't cost him anything! And so the farmer marries, unaware that he's marrying his servant's sister, who makes a living like everyone else. It's only when he thinks she's been roasted by him that he begins to suspect her. But wherever he hides so he can follow her, he pays the price, and almost loses his life...

Former member of the Murder Squad of the State Department of Internal Affairs, Igor Svetlov returns to his home town intent on finding the killer of his brother. He soon notices some significant and shocking changes to the residential district - drugs and stolen property are being traded almost openly on the streets, schoolteachers are in fear of their own students, and teenagers operate protection rackets on private shops. The local police do not dare to appear on the streets after dark except in the most extreme and urgent cases, and the local citizens stopped believing in justice a long time ago. A real war of survival begins in the neighbourhood with Svetlov's arrival, as he is opposed not only by gangsters, but colleagues and people close to him will be on the other side of the barricades too.

A year has passed since gangsters shot at Police Captain Igor Svetlov and his friends and blew up Sergey Kravchuk's car killing Igor's fiancée Nika. And still the killers have not been found - While Svetlov survives his injuries and remains with the police force, becoming Head of the Criminal Investigation Department, the tragedy takes an emotional toll on him. Retreating into himself, Svetlov becomes more despondent, openly admitting that the fight against crime is futile. He thinks more often about retiring and leaving the town, which holds so many painful memories for him. But before he can move on, he has promised himself that he needs to make right the events from a year ago and bring the murderers to justice. Meanwhile, Kravchuk, who has returned to Harlem after having several major operations abroad, shares his goal.

In the new season of “Brother for Brother“, police captain Igor Svetlov continues in his persistent struggle against the criminal world in the district of Harlem. Kravchuk, now suspended from the police force, decides to go into business working undercover for his brother Ivan Antonov, an influential person in the local town. Svetlov has good reason to count Kravchuk as a dangerous enemy as their personal vendetta goes back a long way. Igor still holds him responsible for Lena's death, strongly suspecting Kravchuk of ordering the hit on him, which resulted in the tragic killing of Lena by a bullet that was meant for him. Meanwhile, Kravchuk has discovered that someone has taken a contract out on him, and the man who is rumoured to be doing the job is Kid, an assassin with a flawless record. When the police discover who is responsible for organising the hit, Antonov orders Svetlov to find Kid before it's too late.
